The Pukekohe BSP project saw the installation of 1.5km of 355mm watermain to help increase the water supply throughout the Pukekohe Area. The single pipeline was installed via Horizontal Directional Drilling and Open Trenching which also included the installation of all the fittings required.

The project was delivered on time and much to the satisfaction of everyone involved. There was minimal impact on the environment during this project.

Open trenching was a total of 400mm going through volcanic rock at depths of up to 3 metres.

Installation of multiple fittings details which required job re-designs, we also completed a shutdown connection over the existing 500mm watermain. This required high level planning and innovation to ensure the job was carried out safely and to specifications.

Constant communication between ourselves and the Clients, keeping them informed about the progress and any issues we were up against.

This was the first job we delivered using our new system “UPVISE”, where we have developed new QA forms to be used onsite to enable us to capture data and send directly to the Client.

We have received much praise from Watercare and Fulton Hogan following the successful shutdown and installation of the pipeline.
