Drury South Waste Water Servicing project was to install twin rising mains for a Watercare pump station. One 450mm and one 315mm diameter pipe were installed using trenchless Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) in three 200m sections. This required six drill shots in total which ventured as deep as 10m and as shallow as 4m in places. Across the site we had a large stream, a rail line and the State Highway 1 motorway to navigate. This took an expert level of innovation efficiency to give the client a quality project inside of a tight window.
We were able to deliver a project on time and to the satisfaction of the client. We had little impact on the environment and used the least intrusive techniques possible to keep all parties happy. We had a special requirement from the client that there be no frac out when crossing the stream. We ended up receiving a letter from Watercare about how good our frac out process was and how little impact we had on the bedrock of the stream.
As the project evolved our reputation only strengthened and our relationship on site and with various parties involved was very strong. This meant the client was very satisfied with our work.
This project had a large portion outside our usual core business. To showcase our skills as innovative and efficient problem solvers was a testament to the people we had on the project. Our project team lead the planning phase extremely well in coordination with the client which set up a very well run and organized project. Receiving letters and consistent high praise from stakeholders along the way was very pleasing. The key to a successful project is to provide a high standard of work, While meeting health and safety, budget and efficiency expectations. To be able to achieve all this while showcasing our diverse knowledge and skillsets was ultimately very satisfying. This has meant we have built capability and reputation for future challenging projects.
